HONG KONG, Aug. 21 (China News Service) — Global New Industrial Revolution Alliance (NIRA), a nonprofit international cooperation platform, was recently established in Hong Kong. Its co-initiators include prominent economists, business leaders, investors and heads of multilateral development institutions from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, the United States, Europe and countries across the Global South.
According to NIRA, advanced digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) are profoundly reshaping industries, economic structures, social systems and the future of humanity, creating unprecedented opportunities as well as challenges. Against this backdrop, strengthening people-centered global industrial cooperation and technological exchange guided by the principle of technology for good has become increasingly important.
NIRA is committed to promoting the internationalization, digitalization, and decarbonization of industries. Its work spans global agenda-setting, emerging-trend analysis, policy research, investment facilitation, capacity building, partnership development, and the cultivation of a collaborative international ecosystem. Through these efforts, it aims to contribute effectively to global AI governance and provide sustainable development solutions that are both accessible and affordable for the Global South.
Through innovative cooperation mechanisms, including the AI Sustainable Development Hub, the AI Agent Accelerator, the Social Governance AI Agent Initiative, and the Asia-Pacific AI4Science Innovation Platform, NIRA will convene high-level summits, global calls for best practices, “AI+” industry forums, “Digital Go Global” Programs, cross-border business matchmaking, and other public-interest empowerment initiatives. These initiatives aim to establish a global cooperation platform for digital solutions and industrial-scale applications, as well as a global governance platform for AI for humanity and sustainable development.
NIRA said it chose Hong Kong as its base because of the city’s strengths as a free port, an international financial center, and a global hub for legal and dispute-resolution services. Hong Kong also offers significant advantages in taxation, its legal system, and the efficient flow of goods, people, capital and information.
The decision is also aligned with Hong Kong’s role as a “super connector” and its efforts to attract high-caliber international talent. Through its presence in the city, the Alliance hopes to help advance Hong Kong and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area into a new stage of coordinated development driven by globalization and market-oriented cooperation. 「全球新工業革命聯盟」落戶香港 助力可持續發展
中新網香港8月21日電 非牟利國際協作平台「全球新工業革命聯盟」(Global New Industrial Revolution Alliance)近日於香港成立，發起人包括來自中國內地與香港，以及歐美、全球南方國家的知名經濟學家、工商實業家、投資人及多邊發展機構負責人。
「全球新工業革命聯盟」表示，人工智能（AI）等先進數字技術正深刻影響產業發展、經濟結構、社會運作與人類未來，帶來前所未有的機遇與挑戰，加強以人為本、技術向善的全球產業合作及技術交流尤為重要。聯盟致力推動產業國際化、數智化及低碳化轉型，聚焦新工業革命全球議題設置、趨勢發布、政策研究、投資對接、能力建設、夥伴關係及生態建設，積極參與人工智能全球治理，為全球南方提供兼具可及性與可負擔性的可持續發展方案。
聯盟將透過「人工智能可持續發展中心」「智能原生加速器」「社會治理智能體」「亞太人工智能科創中心」等創新合作機制，舉辦全球人工智能可持續發展峰會、最佳實踐案例徵集大賽以及「AI+」產業論壇，同時開展數字出海、跨境對接及公益活動，搭建新工業革命數字解決方案與產業級應用場景的全球合作平台，以及技術向善、可持續發展的全球治理平台。
「全球新工業革命聯盟」指出，選擇在香港成立，是看好香港作為自由港、國際金融中心、國際法律及爭議解決服務中心，在稅制、法律體系，以及物流、人流、資金流、資訊流高效流通等方面的優勢，亦契合香港「超級聯繫人」的角色與吸引國際高端人才的發展趨勢，期望推動香港以及整個粵港澳大灣區邁向全球化與市場化協同發展的新階段。（完）
