NIRA Attends ReThink HK 2026, Deepening International Exchange on AI and Sustainable Development

ReThink HK: Hong Kong’s global platform for sustainable business and climate action, enabling cross-sector collaboration on climate, energy transition, circular economy, sustainable cities and innovation.

Professor Yabin Wu, Secretary-General of the Global New Industrial Revolution Alliance (NIRA), recently attended ReThink HK 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. During the event, he engaged with international representatives from government, business, professional services, technology and innovation, and the sustainable development community, exploring emerging practices and opportunities for collaboration in artificial intelligence, green transformation, and sustainable industrial development.

ReThink HK is one of Hong Kong’s internationally recognized platforms for sustainable business and climate action. Through high-level conferences, thematic forums, innovation showcases, and industry networking, the event brings together governments, businesses, investment institutions, professional organizations, and civil society to advance cross-sector collaboration in climate action, the energy transition, the circular economy, sustainable cities, and innovative technologies.

During the event, Professor Wu met with Chris Brown, Founder of ReThink HK, and other participants. Their discussions covered innovative practices and emerging trends in AI-powered solutions, energy management, low-carbon development, green transformation, sustainable supply chains, and the international deployment of new technologies.

NIRA believes that the new industrial revolution is increasingly being shaped by the convergence of digital intelligence and green transformation. The industrial value of AI lies not only in improving efficiency, but also in its ability to integrate deeply with real-economy applications across energy, manufacturing, cities, transport, and supply chains, thereby creating sustainable solutions that deliver economic, environmental, and social value. Moving innovative technologies from research and development to large-scale application also requires closer coordination among industry, capital, research institutions, and international cooperation mechanisms.

In line with this vision, NIRA continues to advance the integration of artificial intelligence with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Together with global partners, it is launching the inaugural Global Call for AI × SDG Best Practices 2026, an international initiative designed to identify innovative, practical, and scalable AI solutions, promote technology for good, and facilitate global exchange among outstanding projects and practices.

Looking ahead, NIRA will continue to leverage Hong Kong’s international connectivity, market-driven environment, and professional expertise while deepening cooperation with ReThink HK. NIRA aims to help position the event as a platform and gateway connecting industries, technologies, capital, and professional resources from China and around the world, accelerating the application of AI and green, low-carbon innovation across real-world industrial settings and opening new avenues for international cooperation on sustainable development in the era of the new industrial revolution.
